We are pleased to announce that we updated our subscription from Yomidas Bunshokan to Yomidas Rekishikan ヨミダス歴史館.
The Yomidas Rekishikan is the largest newspaper article databse in Japan with over 10 million articles. The coverage date starts as early as the first publication on November 2, 1874. It is an excellent tool to get a deep insight of Japanese social life and customs, history, politics from the Meiji, Taisho, Showa periods, as well as present. In addition to the full-text articles, researchers are also able to search the advertisements.
The four sections of Yomidas Rekishikan include:
- Yomiuri Shinbun 読売新聞: searchable newspaper articles from 1896 to present
- Meiji/Taisho/Showa 明治・大正・昭和: searchable newspaper articles of Yomiuri Shinbun in image format from 1874 to 1989
- Jinbutsu 人物: Who's Who of 26,000 entries
- Daily Yomiuri: the English-language Daily Yomiuri since 1989
