BRUSH PAINTING

The Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library is inaugurating a new public lecture series on the Magnificent Chinese Civilization. Starting from June 2011 till the summer 2012, there will be monthly public lectures in the East Asian Library about different aspects of Chinese culture, such as Chinese arts, Chinese dance, Chinese medicine, etc.

The first lecture of the series: Chinese Brush Painting (書畫) featured by Dr. Jason Kao and his friend Mr. Peng Ma(馬鵬). Dr. Kao talked about traditional Chinese painting techniques, and Mr. Peng Ma gave a live painting demonstration. The lecture was well received.

BOOK DONATION & SPECIAL FORUM OF CHINESE CANADIAN WRITERS

A book-lovers' forum was co-presented by Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library and Chinese Pen Society of Canada (CPSC). Writers read their own works and shared their tips on creative writing with the audience. CPSC also donated its members’ works to the East Asian Library.
